The girls room {Revised}

Along with finishing Baby Sarah's room we have re-arranged the girls room.

Remember what the room first looked like?

girlsroom

We have now converted their beds into "bunk beds."  The girls do great!  We don't allow Norah up on the top bunk and that is a very strict rule we established right away, she has done great at obeying it.  She has also learned how to stay in her bed thanks to an alarm that goes off when she gets out.

Storms & {Winner for Chalk Board Bubble}

Have you ever been to Colorado in the summer?  Well it storms here in the afternoon almost everyday, or so it seems!  There are more lighting strikes here than anywhere else in the US (or so they say).  It is nice to have a huge down pore of rain after a hot day and they girls are always fascinated and intrigued!  Norah will say, "my hear thunder,"  even if it is just a plane flying over.

I grabbed a quick photo one evening of them starring out the window in fascination

10 seconds to change the world

Hi everyone! This is Brett. I want to ask you for your help.

I work with Compassion International and we are working to get these simple, durable, wonderful water filter systems to all the children and families involved with our programs. So far, everyone in Haiti has been provided with one and now we are working on Rwanda.

For this past month of August, water.org has been holding a voting contest and whoever wins gets to send out tweets on behalf of water.org's Twitter feed for a week, @water. Compassion is bouncing between first and second this whole month and there are just a few days left and we REALLY need your help. We want to spread the word of these filter systems to the over 400,000 followers of @water, who are also passionate about clean, safe water!

10 seconds if you have a twitter account, 30 seconds if you do not.

If you need a walk through with pictures and help, click here.

But, Brett, that's great and all - but what is this water system you keep talking about? I've made a few videos and posted them below. I have also posted a few videos of other people who are helping out and spreading the word.

Please help! It's totally FREE to vote :)

Baby Sarah's room/Guest room

Slowly I have been working on baby Sarah's room with a ton of sewing help from my mom!  I decided not to paint it, it is a big room and I don't want to be in this house forever so I skipped the painting and got the color from the curtains and pillows.  The main theme for the room was a bird painting one of Carrisa's friends, Carla did.  Carla was inspired to paint after Carrisa died and I really wanted something meaningful in the room, and this was perfect!  It is forever a reminder of Carrisa, something Sarah will have.

Since we only have 3 bedrooms we decided to make the babies room a guest room also.  It is a huge room and baby Sarah doesn't need all that space by herself so it is perfect for when people come to visit.

Embrace the Camera August 25th

Today I am Embracing the "Work Belly"

This little baby girl has come to work with me 3 days a week for the past 8 months.  My shirt barley fits and often times the bottom button comes un-popped! I am not sure if the shirt will make it much longer at work, or that I will even make it much longer at work.

Here's to Baby Sarah enjoying teeth cleanings with me!

And don't forget this week!
Would you like to win one of these cute chalk board bubbles my husbands makes?

Water Ball and green popsicles

We got an awesome water ball for Norah's birthday from one of Carrisa's friends in California, Glama Wright.  What fun it has been for the summer, just a simple activity for the girls, but oh so useful!

The water ball is pretty intense so goggles must be worn

Dress Up

Well I would have to say my husband is doing such a great job at embracing all the girls in his life and the one that is coming.  I saw the cutest idea on Pinterest, a Dress up Box,

I asked Brett if he could build it and by the next day he had purchased all of the wood and put it together! Here he is in Action!

Maya was so excited she asked if she could help paint it

Isn't it so cute!  I used some left over paint from the girls room to paint it, then I used stencils to do the words "Dress Up."  I just hand did the white necklace painted on the left side.  It cost about $35 to make.

You can go to this website for all of the instructions
