Sarah's dictionary

Don't let this cute face fool you, or do let it fool you, because it fools us all the time!
sarah1

Welcome to Sarah's Dictionary, a 2 year olds interpretation of Websters Dictionary.
For now, I prefer Sarah's version

Possum:  For others this may be known as "pasta" but for Sarah pasta must have a whole different flavor profile

Monkers: the term used for "monsters," but trust me "monkers" is way cuter

Ribbit ribbit:  the sound Sarah's "turtle" potty apparently makes

Nory take: the phrase used anytime Norah is remotely close to Sarah, regardless if anything has been taken or not

Corn: any type of food that is white or yellow, which can include macaroni, cereal, cheese,or actual corn

Play Beans:  what Sarah says when she wants to organize  makes a mess with a gigantic bucket of Beads

Drive:  the new word for waking up "Dry"
sarah6

Boy: most would think this has to do with gender, but for Sarah it means I must hold her like a baby

Pop it: the phrase used when Sarah she wants me to bite into her apple to get it started

Two babies:  the phrase used when mommy is carrying both Levi and Sarah. I'd say she's very accurate, Mr Webster might have to agree.

It's coming:  the phrase used every single time Sarah sits on the potty regardless if something is coming or not

What the Heck: whoops....... she must have learned that from me :o/ sarah2

I'm weird

I'm a planner

Days that aren't planned can give me anxiety.  Even if the plans for the day are to have "no plans" I just need to know it is planned that way

I am a routine person
I mean, with 4 small children I kind of have to be.  We have a lot of structure
but typically we eat breakfast, lunch and dinner about the same time everyday.
 I vacuum on Mondays,
 photo-5

I mop and menu plan on Tuesdays, shop on Wednesdays, clean bathrooms and collect trash on Thursdays, wash laundry on Saturdays and fold it on Sundays  photo-1

Do you still want to be my friend?

I do like to be flexible though.  As much as you need a schedule with 4 small children you also need to be flexible, because some unlikely poop event or other catastrophe is bound to occur and break the whole schedule

I hate driving in the snow, like despise it, will avoid it at all costs! It gives me terrible anxiety and has even been known to bring on a cold sore.  And I drive like a grandma in the snow..... and really don't care when 45 cars are lined up behind me and all of them thinking the same thing, "she must be from Californai!" because they are totally right!

I don't like talking on the phone, especially to people I don't know

The thought of cotton in my mouth makes me cringe

I can't handle crumbs all over the floor, it drives my feet crazy so I sweep like 45 times a day

I like cleaning tarter off of teeth.  In fact, the more the merrier!

I'm weird, and I need a housekeeper.
 What makes you weird?

January

December is such a crazy month for me that I find myself taking an unintentional rest in January.  Sorry for my lack of blogging, but I have just needed a few evenings of nothing.  No planning ahead for the next advent, no cleaning frenzy, no facebook, no tv and no blogging. Not every night is free of all of these, I just really distance myself from them for a bit.

So what have I done

Read a good book, although it is kinda cheesy and teenagerish at moments I liked it

Had my brother Jordan here for a visit

Tried to figure out how to eat without any dairy or soy

ANd right now this is my favorite snack with a little avocado latejuly
Potty Trained Sarah, and yes she is wearing tights over her undies, it makes it feel terrible when she pees on herself so then she never wants to do it again!

January is a hard month for me..... the excitement of Christmas has gone, it is cold, and I feel more isolated and stuck.  My days feel very monotonous and repetitive.  I think this is one of the hardest things for a stay at home mom.... the same repetitive days with little adult interaction while being stuck inside.  People can differ in opinions on whats harder, being a stay at home mom, or a working mom, both are hard for different reasons and I have done both, but for me the isolation makes being a stay at home mom harder.  However,  I wouldn't trade it.  I wouldn't trade the chance to be home with my little kiddos, molding and shaping their hearts and I am very thankful for the time with them!

So moms, I am all ears for ideas on how you make it through the stuck inside winter season!

Levi Paul {4 months}

What a month this has been!

You grew up this past month and lost all of your hair, and Surprise it is coming in blonde now, which is really not a surprise at all! No beard yet though....

You had your first official Christmas and participated so well
DSC_0973 DSC_1003 christmas5

You got to hang out with Grammy and Poppy a whole lot
DSC_1038

And you also had a lot of trouble pooping.... and this time it was really bothering you after 9 days......
It was so sad to see you uncomfortable and you just weren't yourself.... you were really off.  The Dr.s have told me time again that it is normal for a breastfed baby to go many days without pooping, but I could just tell this time around your little belly hurt!

So one day it just came to me..... dairy, I need to cut out dairy.  Dairy can cause stinky gas and constipation, which is what your problem is (sorry when you read this one day that everyone will know you were constipated, love me still please). And Diary is probably the most common of irritants among babies.  I am not one to just cut every food out of my diet while I am nursing, it is hard enough for me to keep up with the calories, but this time I just knew I needed to at least try and cut out dairy to see if it would change anything.  So I stopped, cold turkey, which is kinda a big deal because I'm like a dairy queen, I could eat cheese all day!  Goodbye Tillamock, I will see you in 8 months :O( And lets not mention the 50 bags of frozen breast milk full of diary I have in the freezer......

And guess what, about 3 days after I cut out diary, you started to poop normal and your rotten gas went away!  Coincidence?  Ummm probably not.  And doing this just 6 days before Christmas was borderline tragic, but knowing that you feel better really makes it that much easier, because I love you Levi and I don't want you to be sad.

moving on

You love to play on the playmat, you grab the toys and talk to them

You just love the bath, I think it's your favorite place

And you love your hands and fingers, always gnawing on them and sucking on them
DSC_1005

I'm pretty sure your teething too, the drool and the biting on things is out of control!

You love when Maya sings to you, she usually sings, "little brother dear."  The two of you have a special relationship,  and I love seeing it!   She always knows how to settle you down and bring a smile to your face.
christmas4

And you love talking to Rapunzel.  It is hilarious!  We sit you in in front of her and all we hear is, "blah blah blah, gaga gooo goo"
DSC_1054

You have been hanging out in your bumbo chair a little bit, so tinyDSC_0416

You weight right around 12lbs And I'm pretty sure your eyes are gonna stay blue levi4months2

Happy 4 months Levi, please stay this age forever!
