Norah & Sarah's room

I am taking it one room at a time.
This whole moving thing can be overwhelming when it comes to redecorating, so I just started by painting one room and slowly finishing it.   Maya has her own room now, but Norah & Sarah share, changing it up a bit!   The transition has been good and the alone time for Maya has been helpful and healthy for her.

We started our first painting project in Norah & Sarah's room.  I loved the theme of the room Maya & Norah had before and didn't want to buy everything new, but I also didn't want it to look exactly
the same.  Here is their room in our old townhouse.  You can also look here for more photos

So all we did to decorate their room in the new house was buy a different color paint, some chair rail, and an organizer.  Everything else we used for the room was already in the previous room and was just re-used or re-purposed to save $$$.

Introducing Norah & Sarah's room!

We used a blueish/teal paint that we actually matched with one of the colors on the bed spread & then white chair rail (it was only about $30 for the chair rail and it was pre-painted)

reading nook.  Same ikea spice shelves I had in the previous room, just spray painted them pink.

I used a storage cubbie flipped on its side so the girls could sit there and it could still be used for storage.

Letters from their old rooms, that is still the "N" that mommy Carrisa made for Norah, will always treasure it!

I used an old mirror frame , spray painted it, and then used fabric that was originally for a window cover in the room. behind the fabric is foam board from hobby lobby.

And you want to know something funny?  Lately people have been saying how much Norah & Sarah look alike and they think Maya is adopted. Funny how that works out

Durango 2013 & Mothers day

We took a long weekend and spent some time in Durango, CO.  Brett helps ref a soccer tournament there, lodging provided. and me and the girls hang out and reap all the benefits of his hard work :O)

there is so much I love about this photo, but mostly that they did this on their own

It is a cute little town and we always love going, plus it is just some different scenery for the girls.  Apparently 2 out of the 3 girls get car sick though, not fun.  But you know what all 3 of the girls did awesome all weekend!  We had so much fun, they loved the condo, all the outside time, the shaved ice, couch beds, the bungy trampoline, honeyville,  the swimming, the parks, and the late nights.

The only thing that is slightly hard for me is mothers day.  It usually always falls on the same weekend as the tournament and mothers day is just an weird and hard day for me.

I think it is hard for me because...

because I feel a little isolated and alone (since Brett is working) on a day that is emotionally hard
because I cannot truly celebrate being Norah's mom because a part of me will always know that gift is Carrisa's
because Carrisa only had one mothers day with Norah
because Norah made me a sweet gift of a heart necklace, to say "I love you" and that sweet little gift was meant to be for Carrisa
because I will always be reminded of the amazing gift of motherhood and how quickly it can be taken away

All 3 of my girls are such a blessing a gift and I love being a mommy, just wish I could share that with my sister.

5 months pregnant with little man

Over half way done!  5 months is always the stage where I definitely show, like you stop questioning whether I am getting chubby and start realizing it's a little more like a baby belly. I am pretty sure I look as big right now as I did with Maya full term, not kidding.  I never got that huge with Maya, she was little, and I was early, and now this is my third.  Plus my belly button sticks out so far right now there might as well be another baby in there!  Seriously, I had to put a band-aid on it today because it is out of control!  Baby Sarah even likes to push on my belly button and make a tooting noise, because it does look like a big toot button!

I finally feel good, like no more acid belly at night.  It only took 21 weeks, good thing I haven't ever been pregnant with boys previously because we would have only had one child, being sick that long is no bueno.

As far as food is concerned. I am obsessed with mangos!  All I want to do is eat mangos and drink mango smoothies all day!  I think I could eat a whole mango tree and be good.

Brett has been able to feel the baby move, which is always such a fun stage, it somehow becomes a little more real to someone else and I love that!

It is so strange to think that there is a little baby boy growing in there, hopefully I am doing a good job growing him.

As far as names go we don't have one set yet.  There is one name we both really like but haven't totally agreed yet that that is for sure it.  Brett said we should leave it up to my blog readers and a voting contest to determine the name of our baby  and he was only half joking, so if you have a good name let us know!

Look you can see for yourself the difference between 4 & 5 months, it's huge!

Getting more excited each day to meet this little man.

every once in a while

Just every once in a while, I get a picture of Norah. One that captures her beauty, one the shows her in moments that are rare, one that reflects the heart God has given her. She can be crazy, wiggly, silly and unruly, all the things that come with being 3, but then there are times I see her stick up for her little sister, share a snack, help me clean up, give a me huge lovely hug, comfort me when I don't feel good, or maybe just smile for a photo. norah1

The girls have been in dance all year, a ballet class. I put them in together, and watching them side by side is quite an experience. Their recital is coming up and these photos are from their picture day.

I love that my girls love to dance, it is something we do every day! Although, I have learned that
ballet might not quite be their thing

Maya, she should be a hip hop dance maya3j

and Norah, well.... maybe a tumbler :O)

Whatever they want to do or be is fine with me :O) Although, I am slightly hoping that Norah will be a hair stylist, so I can forever get my hair done for free and it wouldn't be bad if Maya was a personal chef, oh and Sarah, she can be my personal organizer and I am totally set DSC_0050

Dreams & thoughts about a boy

Hi everyone

Thank you for all of the wonderful and kind comments about the expected little boy Goodlin :O)  We are very excited!  I can't help but feel excited that Brett will have a little man to take to the father son camping trip someday (those still happen, right?), and that he won't be totally alone in our female house.  He already said that he is going to make a man cave for the 2 of them to get-a-way in when we are being dramatic.  Dramatic? pshhh there is none of that in our house, ever :O)

IMG_5414

A few weeks ago, when I was about 17 weeks pregnant I asked the Lord to give me a dream about the baby.  I just said a quick little prayer in my head, "Lord it would be fun to have a dream about the baby in my belly, goodnight."  And that is basically all I said.

That night I did have a dream, and my dad was in it.  He was holding the baby and he said, "but of course it's a boy, there has to be some kind of redemption for all of the males losses in our family."  That is about all I remember in the dream, but it was so vivid and real and I woke up that morning and I knew it was a boy!  I felt so blessed and thankful to have a dream with my father in it, for even just a few seconds, and I loved that he knew about the baby and he was the one to tell me...  How so much meaning and emotion could be wrapped up in a 10 second dream, I have no idea, except for that it was from the Lord.

I only shared this with Brett, and after he heard about my dream he looked at me and said, "Yeah, we probably are having a boy, because having a girl would be way to easy, we know and have everything for a girl already, and nothing is ever easy for us."  haha!

My mom also had a dream it was a boy, and she is always right!

When we had the ultrasound I think my heart was a little more prepared to hear the word "boy" but when our sonographer said "Boy"  I am not gonna lie, my eyes welled up with tears a little and thoughts of my father and the dream the Lord gave overwhelmed me.
IMG_5359
Oh Norah, doesn't even care what's going on just in her own little word :O)

Part of me feels a sorry for the little guy, with 3 older sisters (mommies), he is going to be pampered, dresses up, nursed, you name it!  Hopefully it will only make him a great husband someday.

I asked Maya if she thought having a little brother would be any different and she said, "no, it won't be any different........ well, expect for one thing, his pee pee, heheheheh".

Love this girl
IMG_5427

Now I am actually going to have to give one of my children a haircut, and he won't get headbands at birth, that is a weird concept! Sorry, we probably won't allow our boy to have long hair or a name that could be slightly female, he is going to have a hard enough time with his identity with 3 older sisters.  So there will be no confusion of the gender, a good solid boy name, with good solid boy haircuts!

And there was a part of me that felt so sad, that Sarah wouldn't be my baby anymore... but when I came home from the ultrasound I squeezed her and said, "you will always be my baby girl"
