Disneyland!

For Maya's 2nd birthday we celebrating by taking her to Disneyland! It was magical! The day we left for California Maya woke up in the morning saying "Mickey, Mini, Nemo?" She was so excited! On the plane ride she told everyone that she was going to meet "Mickey" and on the shuttle ride on the way to Disneyland she told everyone "My Mickey" because of course no one else could have him....
As soon as we got there Maya was so excited and couldn't wait, she spotted a ride right away and pointed saying "go" so we got in line (which Maya has never done) and she started to cry. She didn't understand she had to wait in line to go on a ride, so she cried the whole 15 minutes we waited....... This happened for the 1st 3 rides and then she finally caught on. After that Maya was a bundle of joy walking around, feeding off of the energy of the other children, dancing when she heard live music and squealing with delight!
We even got to meet Mickey Mouse! We stepped in the room and Maya ran to Mickey, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and she said "My Cheek" and then ran away because she spotted something else fun.

There were so many fun memories, we spent 4 days there alternating between Disneyland and Disney California. One day we even got to go 1 hour before the park opened so there were no lines!! The lines weren't very bad the whole trip, I think the longest we waited was about 15 minutes and often times we didn't wait at all! It is a very different experience going with a toddler than with just your spouse. It is all about meeting characters, the parades, the kiddy rides and just having fun!

There are lots of cute things Maya said, some of my favorite quotes include
"My Mickey" (she even said this while talking in her sleep)
"My Cheek"
"Bug Show"
"My Buggies"
"My daddy hit me" (he didn't really, this was just her first grammatically correct sentence)

Warning lots of photos to come, but not even close to as many we actually took

"Day 1"

"Beep Beep"

"My Cheek"

loving the parade!

exhausted in the stroller
(we were so thankful everyday Maya took a nap in her stroller)

Winnie the Pooh ride

wouldn't be complete without a ride on the carousal

off to "It's small world"

we even got to enjoy sometime in the pool at our hotel

"Day 2"
loving her mickey hat

The Nemo submarine was my favorite ride, Maya is really into nemo right now and it was magical they way you got to go underwater and see a coral reef and then see nemo!

Buzz walked right up to Maya and took a drink of her milk! She loved it!

We went to the Disney California our 2nd day and I had never been and really loved it !

Lots of fun bugslife rides
Maya LOVED this slide! She literally went down it about 100 times!!

The 2nd day was long because we stayed until 9:30 to watch the fire works. This is while waiting for our shuttle. Maya NEVER falls asleep in my arms, so precious, I had to capture this moment

"Day 3"
We met Woody

and a different Mickey (She hugged him this time)

and Pooh!

Jungle Book Tree house

Mini's House

I think she enjoyed touching the water more than the ride behind her

One of Maya's favorite rides she called it "My buggy" and we went on it about 6 times

Easter

What a great Easter! We got to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, hunt Easter eggs and watch Brett get baptized.

This year Easter was so fun with Maya! We did 2 different Easter egg hunts and she loved both of them! She was after every egg she could possibly get her eye on. At villa sport they had a hunt, fun activities and the Easter bunny. As you can see Maya wasn't sure what to think of the bunny.

Maya also got to go down a big inflatable slide, I think she was the smallest child doing it and as you can see she was totally fearless. (she is on the right side, in pink)

We did the 2nd hunt at a preschool by our house, we meet up with our good friends the Brewers, we love Ian and Emily, they are so fun!
(Maya & Emily)

Maya enjoying a treat from the cake walk

Easter Sunday I made a brunch and "papa" jointed us.

We then went to church and had a late lunch at our good friends "the Whites." They made a wonderful meal for many friends and then had a little Easter egg hunt. By now Maya was like a pro at Easter egg hunting, she ran out to the yard and kept saying "My eggs!"

on the hunt

Maya loves "uncle nick"

and "aunt Jamie" who made a wonderul dessert

she loves bubbles

Maya and Elaina (her Easter egg hunt buddy)

goodbye hugs

Easter evening we had the priviledge of watching Brett get baptized. He was baptized when he was younger, but really felt like he had made the true decision to follow Christ later on in life and this was his way of showing that commitment.

He is risen! He is risen Indeed!
