There are so many things I could write about, but I have to share this one thing, because, well, it's kind of funny.
Being that we just had our first baby (so precious and wonderful Maya, I love her more than life could imagine), people have been eager to bring us meals. We are so thankful for the help and food, it not only saves money, but it is nice to just have something made without having to do the work. We are truly blessed.
1st meal: Chicken pasta with red pepper, zucchini, and italian dressing. Bread and salad for a side and for dessert and the most amazing chocolate chip cookies ever! (my favorite meal)
2nd meal: Mexican casserole, very tasty, but mommy, daddy, and baby all had gas. Actually baby had non-stop poop all not long, and mom and daddy got no sleep. No more mexican casserole.
On and quick tangent: Maya had a really loud and funny poop/fart the night of the Mexican meal and I started laughing uncontrollably, but then I my laugh turned into a hysterical cry that I could not control it. Brett didn't know what to do, it was definitely postpartum hormones. Ok back to the meals....
3rd meal: Lasagna, with Bread and Salad
4th meal: Lasagna, with Bread and Salad
oh wait lets sneak in a frozen dinner that a friend just wanted to drop by: Lasagna with Bread and a Salad
5th meal: Stewed Pot roast with Veggies and rolls (Yeah, a break, so tasty!)
6th meal: Can you guess??? Lasagna, with Bread and Salad (oh wait we got some brownies and strawberries too :O) )
I am not complaining, just laughing. We are thankful for the food and the thoughtfulness, although Brett just went to Costco to buy a freezer so we can put all the lasagna and bread in there. oh the joy, I love Maya.

remembering
Brett and I are house sitting for his dad (Dan) this week. We are helping to take care of the dogs so Dan doesn't have to pay someone again. It's a really big house, that feels so empty and alone. It is weird being here, I have been by myself a lot today, with just the dogs and the rain falling, which is kind of nice, just to have some alone down time, but it just given me a lot of time to think.
There are so many memories of Fran here, and so many things that are different in the house that make me miss her. There are no more horses, yet the barn smells like they were just there yesterday. The kitchen cupboards are all re-arranged, which is just frustrating because I used to know where everything was and now I can't help but think to myself, "Fran would not have liked this arrangement," but it really doesn't matter that much. Then I feel the baby move, and can't help but feel a sadness that Fran won't get to meet her. I just want Brett to get home soon. I can't imagine being in this big empty house by myself all the time.

Last day for "girl Friday"
Yesterday was my last day at the Friday dental office. For those who don't know I had been hygiene subbing at an office about twice a month on Fridays for the past 1.5 years. They called me "girl Friday"
It was actually a great place to work, they really made me feel a part of things even though I wasn't there very often. Plus there is a hygienist there who is my age and is so sweet and so much fun to work with!
Since the baby is coming I decided that now would be as good as time as any to quit working there, not because I didn't like it, but simply because I would love an extra day at home with Maya and we don't need the income of that one extra day. It was still hard leaving because the staff is so nice, but I promised myself I wouldn't cry.
They had flowers for me, a stuffed animal for Maya, and lunch from Olive Garden. Oh, and I can't forget the best part, the chocolate creme pie, sooo delicious! When I read the card from Lynae (other hygienist) I got a little choked up and I could have easily cried, but I held it back since I had made myself the promise not to cry. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for tears.
I made it through the whole 4 hours of work without a hitch. I did have to mention L.C's implant situation to eveyrone since this office does so many implants, they were all shocked and in disbelief. I am glad I had an easy day without any hard or weird patients, it was just a good way to leave.

Janice
Janice is one of the ladies I work with, she is our receptionist and she is awesome! She is like a mother to me here, always listening, caring, and understanding. We even carpool to work together on Thursdays.
She has done so much for baby Maya, it has been such a blessing. She made the curtains for the room, she made a pillow with the inscription "Maya" she threw me a work baby shower (where she pitched in for a baby swing), she got Brett a gift bag filled with "daddy's little girl" supplies, she got me a gift bag filled with necessary supplies like bottles and receiving blankets, and then yesterday at work she gave me a home made quilt that matches Maya's room. I love it, it is so perfect for the room and it means so much that she made it!

I don't talk about work much on my blog, but I truly love my job! I really like being a hygienist, but even more I love the place I work and the people I work with. My boss is great, he has integrity, he is generous, and he is really caring. Just a few days ago he called me to see if I wanted the couches that were in the lobby at work because he was replacing them. He said, "I know you and your husband have more recently moved into a home and I just wanted to ask you first if you wanted the couches." (L, I would have offered them to you for your apartment, but you live kind of far away). It was just really thoughtful gesture. He also told me that he got a chair for me to sit in while I breast pump when I come back to work.
The office is really nice inside too (dr's wife is an interior designer). I remember when I first walked in I thought to myself, "Oh my gosh, I want to work here" and now I do! I also love all of the technology in the office, everything is on the computers and digital, it makes it so much more efficent and way easier. I can easily say I love going to work everyday.
