January

December is such a crazy month for me that I find myself taking an unintentional rest in January.  Sorry for my lack of blogging, but I have just needed a few evenings of nothing.  No planning ahead for the next advent, no cleaning frenzy, no facebook, no tv and no blogging. Not every night is free of all of these, I just really distance myself from them for a bit.

So what have I done

Read a good book, although it is kinda cheesy and teenagerish at moments I liked it

Had my brother Jordan here for a visit

Potty Trained Sarah, and yes she is wearing tights over her undies, it makes it feel terrible when she pees on herself so then she never wants to do it again!

January is a hard month for me..... the excitement of Christmas has gone, it is cold, and I feel more isolated and stuck.  My days feel very monotonous and repetitive.  I think this is one of the hardest things for a stay at home mom.... the same repetitive days with little adult interaction while being stuck inside.  People can differ in opinions on whats harder, being a stay at home mom, or a working mom, both are hard for different reasons and I have done both, but for me the isolation makes being a stay at home mom harder.  However,  I wouldn't trade it.  I wouldn't trade the chance to be home with my little kiddos, molding and shaping their hearts and I am very thankful for the time with them!

So moms, I am all ears for ideas on how you make it through the stuck inside winter season!

  1. I only have 1, not 4, so outings are easier, but I'm thinking of putting Emilee in an indoor but still active environment at least once a week. Right now I'm considering either gymnastics or "baby ballet". :)

  3. I mainly only deal with the cabin fever on the weekends due to work and all 4 being in school, but I crave adult interaction. I work with adults all day (but lets be truthful, they don't always act like adults), and we're at work, so socializing is out. It seems like the only conversations I have are about who's bothering who, who doesn't want this, who wants this. Your a lot stronger than I could be!
