How is it December 18th? Ahhh almost Christmas, and in the forecast they are saying snow? We will see!?
For now let us commence with advent days' 13-16
Day 13:
How could you have a Christmas season without making Christmas cookies and treats??
I wanted to avoid frosting this year, not that I don't love it, it is just such a mess, in addition to the already huge mess of making cookies, plus my kids have had enough sugar this season, so I just wanted to eliminate a little if I could. I found this great recipe, and modified it slightly with Christmas sprinkles. This almond sugar cookie recipe was soooo delicious and it was great to be able to decorate before they went in the oven!
We made almond sugar cookies
Milano cookies dipped in chocolate with sprinkles
Walnut & Brown Sugar Rugelach

Day 14:
Of course we had to deliver all of the Christmas treats we made to someone
all made by the girls |
We visited an elderly couple we have spent sometime time with these past few months, we brought cookies andornaments the girls made. Brett was able to come and meet them finally! We had so much fun, the girls playing, running around and squealing, singing and dancing to Christmas music as the man played Christmas music on the piano.
I think they brought more cheer to us than we did to them.

you think you got that tower pretty high, don't ya? |
We also brought cookies to a friend having a hard season.
Day 15:
Make Christmas Pancakes ( I lost the paper ...)
I know, they look super healthy, don' they? |
Day 16:
We had to be bundled up nice and warm
This is something new we did this year, and we loved it! The zoo does this every December for about 2 weeks. They have beautiful lights everywhere, animals, candy canes & Mr. & Mrs. Clause. We even went with our good friends the Hinkles. Toward the end Sarah was pretty tired and cold, but for the most part it was really fun. There were many animals alert, awake and interactive with people.
Sarah called every animal she saw "Doggy"
And we came home to a nice hot bowl of soup!
I don't know what I am going to do with the girls out of school, dance,
and Awana's for over 2 weeks with the advent days over. Anyone want to
come over and play?
Love you. Miss You.
