This was actually the first time we had an official birthday party for Norah in Colorado! Her 2nd birthday was celebrated in California, and her 3rd birthday we did family style. So it was sweet and special to have a birthday here for her! And I let it be all about what Norah loves! Princess, fairy's and dress up, that is what she LOVES so much.
We did a little fairy, garden party where all the girls attending got
there own dress up dress. There were 13 little girls, which was fun and
a handful all at once!

Each girl got a fairy dress, crown, wand, & wings |

Happy Birthday Nory! |
Norah also got her ears pierced for her birthday! It is actually something she worked very hard for and earned by waking up dry at night for over a month! She was so brave and didn't even cry! And after Maya watched, she said "Mommy, I will wait until I am 10 to get my ears pierced"

ReplyDeleteBeautiful party! Looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteSo creative and so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have GOT to do a post on how you pulled that party off! How did you get fairy dresses for all the girls???
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing party idea!!! Norah is such a lucky girl! Great planning..I am also so shocked she was a big girl and didn't cry from getting her ears pierced! Now she can rock some earrings!
ReplyDeleteI was searching for my GF's blog and came across yours. Started reading about the great story about your ODD getting her ears pierced for her 4th birthday and your YDD saying she wanted to wait till she was ten to have her ears pierced! Your story reminded of a funny experience of mine when we pierced our ODD's ears at 5 yrs after she begged for almost a year.
ReplyDeleteAfter piercing our ODD's ears, we came home showed daddy. He admitted that he really loved them. What happened next surprised me. Dh asked why we hadn't had our other two daughters, aged 18 and 7 mos old! I didn't know what to say, but then our 5 yr chimed in saying she wanted her baby sisters to have matching earrings like hers. My family was ganging up on me! Now everyone wanted younger girls to have her ears pierced! What could I do?
Well, I asked our ped about doing the toddler and baby. To my surprise, she encouraged me to do our toddler when she won't remember as well as our baby. She said when when mommy cares for them, they have fewer problems. It was summer time and I had a little more time so guess what...all three of my girls got their ears pierced ears. I let daddy hold them since it was his idea :) Our girls now have matching earrings and are adorable too.
Don't know if you've considered having your other girls ears pierced, but as it turned out, it actually was a good idea and it wasn't even mine. Since I was the only one who needed convincing, my ODD bought some stickers and started putting them on her younger siblings telling me how pretty they would look with little earrings. Too funny.
If you've thought of having your other girls ears pierced, the maybe your mommy intution is telling you to do it soon.

Hope Norah had a great birthday! She looks so beautiful with her new earrings, and so happy with her sisters. The girls are turning into such lovely young ladies. Wish I could have been there for her special day... would have been difficult to find a tutu in my size though. Loving and missing her. Looking forward to seeing all of you again. Give all the girls my love and a big hug to Norah for me. Thank you for everything.
