A little history

For those of you who don't already know, I grew up in a family with 6 children (later 7 children, with 1 step brother).  I had 3 sisters, 2 brothers,  and 1 step brother.   My mom remarried, several years after my dad passed away, to a wonderful man named Ed.  They have been married ever since.

This is how the kid line up used to look (birth order)
Darren
Candice
Brian (Ed's Son)
Jenni
Jordan
Carrisa
Danae
Yep, I was in the middle
family
ha, I love how the soda Carrisa is holding is bigger than her head
.

Here is how it looks now:
Darren (Died @ age 21 from a Brain Tumor)
Candice (34)
Brian (34)
Jenni (29)
Jordan (28)
Carrisa (Died @ age 25 from a Cardiac Dysrhythmia)
Danae (24)
Yep, I am still in the middle, only with a few more tear stains and scars......to many

Isn't my Grandma so cute?

I know I do not always talk about my living family very much (other sisters and brothers).  I love them all and will share certain things about them as they allow, but I just want to respect their personal lives.

I am eager for my siblings to get married and have children of their own, because as it stands now I am the only one married.  I do have one nephew from my step brother Brian, but none of my other siblings have children and our little Goodlin girls would love to have cousins on my side of the family!

With two siblings already gone I cannot help but fear that someday (to soon) there will be even fewer of us, some people don't think that is a legitimate fear, but for me it is.  I try not to dwell on it and trust that the Lord has plans for our family to continue to expand, but the thought still lingers.

So now that you know a little about my family I can post about my little sister Danae's visit, tomorrow!

  1. Jenni,

Just looking at the picture of you guys with your Dad brought back so many memories....I began to cry. You guys have been through so much and I love you all and miss you all so much. It just seems like yesterday that Danae was born and wow look at you all now. You are all so beautiful. I wish you all the best and hope that you are an aunt sometime soon. God Bless you all. Love always, Ann Marie
